Who we are
Advanced Motor Developments Ltd ("AMD", "we") runs this website and is responsible for the personal information it collects. We are a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 09876533, with our registered office at 59 Greenwood Avenue, Wigan, Lancashire, WN5 9SH. Our workshop is at the rear of Abbey Windows, Little Lane, Goose Green, Wigan, WN3 6PX.

What we collect
When you send the enquiry form, we receive what you type into it: your name, your email address and phone number if you give them, the kind of job you choose and your message. Please do not include anything sensitive that we do not need to answer you.
If you ring, email or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your contact details and whatever you tell us about your vehicle and the job.
This website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and we do not build profiles of the people who visit it.
How we use it
Only to reply to your enquiry, to book your vehicle in and to do the work you ask us to do. We do not send marketing, and we never sell your details or pass them to anyone for their own use.
We rely on two lawful bases. Replying to you is a step you have asked us to take before any work is agreed, and once you book, using your details is necessary for the work itself. Where neither applies, we rely on our legitimate interest in answering the people who contact us.
Where it goes
The enquiry form is emailed straight to our workshop mailbox, which is provided by Microsoft 365. The website does not keep a copy of your message.
To stop spam, the website keeps a short record of how many messages each connection has sent in the past hour. It stores a scrambled code made from your internet address, not the address itself, and the record clears itself after an hour.
The website is hosted by 20i and is built and looked after for us by Create 4 Online. Like any web host, 20i keeps standard technical logs of visits, such as internet addresses and the pages requested, to keep the website running and secure.
If you message us on WhatsApp, WhatsApp's own privacy policy also applies to that conversation.
Microsoft may store or process email outside the UK. Where it does, it uses the safeguards that UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact with you. If your enquiry turns into work, we keep the records we need for that job and for our legal and tax obligations, which is normally six years.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or stop using it. Email dan@advancedmotordevelopments.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so that we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice if the way we use information changes. The date at the top of the page shows when it last changed.
